Postpartum Newborn Home Visits
Home visits are provided to newly delivered Medicaid mothers. Self-referrals can be made, but require a physicians order from either a pediatrician or obstetrician.
- immunizations,
- limited laboratory testing,
- WIC certifications,
- nutrition and social work assessments and interventions, and
- other activities that promote healthy growth.
Services include:
- Maternal assessment,
- Newborn assessment,
- Limited environmental assessment,
- Appropriate referrals to needed resources,
- Return visit if problems are identified for follow-up
Fees: Medicaid is billed for eligible patients.
