Mission
The mission of the Care Line is to improve access to and utilization of health
care and health-related services by identifying and addressing barriers for clients
in need. Assistance and support is provided to callers in gaining access
to family planning services, prenatal care, infant and child health care, care
for children with special health care needs, and other related services.
Resource Information, Education and Referrals
The Care Line helps to empower women and their families, by helping them solve
their problems accessing health care and social services. In addition to
resource referrals, CareLine staff provides support and "teaches" clients
to negotiate inflexible and/or confusing health and social service systems. The
Care Line also provides information about the following:
- Prenatal Care
- Infant Health Care
- Transportation to Medical Appointments
- Family Planning
- Well Child Check-Ups
- Immunizations
Services for Children with Special Health Care Needs
- BabyNet
- Best Chance Network
- Medicaid
- WIC Nutrition Program
- Other Related Services Offered by the Local Health Departments
- Free book (pdf) with Health Tips if you are pregnant or have a child under
the age of 1
