Hearing Aid Program
The Hearing Aid program provides hearing aids and related supplies to individuals with a hearing loss.
Eligibility
Residents of South Carolina are eligible if they have a confirmed hearing loss and are:
- Under the age of 21 and family income is below 250% of poverty; or
- Under the age of 21 and Medicaid enrolled; or
- Enrolled on the Medicaid DDSN Home and Community Based Waiver program and the hearing aid is authorized by the local DDSN Board.
Covered Conditions and Diagnoses
A confirmed hearing loss requiring the use of hearing aids to correct.

- Hearing Aid repairs up to the Program's allowable limits
Services Not Covered
Audiology services such as hearing evaluations are not covered by the Hearing Aid Program; however, audiology services may be available throught the CRS program or through Medicaid.
Hearing Aid Providers
Hearing Aid Program providers are audiologists licensed in the State of South Carolina that provide services to the DHEC's Division of Children with Special Health Care Needs through a contract.
