Advanced Analyses
This section performs a variety of analytical tests, supporting programs within and outside of the DHEC.
Blood Lead Testing: is performed for the DHEC Women and
Children Services (WCS) Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program. The laboratory also tests environmental
lead samples (paint, soil, and dust wipes) to assist the health department
sanitarians identify the source of lead exposure. The Advanced Analyses Section
is accredited for Industrial Hygiene and Environmental Lead Analyses with
the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA). AIHA Accreditation number
100621.
Industrial Hygiene Analyses: for SC Department of Labor,
Licensing, and Regulations (DLLR) Occupational, Safety, and Health Administration
(OSHA) program. These analyses help SC DLLR monitor industrial workers
exposure to regulated chemicals in the workplace. The Advanced Analyses
Section also performs these types of analyses for the State Law Enforcement
Division (SLED) and the Department of Transportation (DOT).
