This is the home page of the Division of Diabetes Translation, a Division of the National Centers for Community Health and Chronic Disease Prevention of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Diabetes Initiative of South Carolina (DSC)
The Diabetes Initiative of South Carolina was created by legislative act in 1994 to develop and implement a comprehensive statewide plan of community outreach, health professional education, and diabetes surveillance. The goal is to provide the tools for the management of the disease in order to reduce severe complications and cost burdens for South Carolinians who suffer from diabetes mellitus.

The National Institute of Digestive and Kidney Diseases conducts and supports research on many of the most serious diseases affecting public health, including diabetes and its complications.

American Association of Diabetes Educators
AADE is made up of a wide variety of health professionals who are involved in educating people with diabetes. AADE has a number of state and regional chapters that sponsor educational conferences for health professionals, and is a great source (via the Diabetes Educators Access Line) for referrals to nurse educators and physicians in your area who specialize in diabetes.
