Icon   Tool name   Purpose    
 
Zoom in tool   Zoom In   Zooms in on the position you click or the box you drag on the map view text directions
 
Zoom out tool   Zoom Out   Zooms out on the position you click or the box you drag on the map view.
 
Zoom to full extent tool   Zoom To Full Extent   Zooms to the full extent of the map.
 
Zoom to previous map view   Zoom to Previous Map View   Zooms to the last previous extent. Note: Inactive until you change extents.
 
Zoom to active layer   Zoom to Active Layer   Zooms to the full extent of the active layer found in the legend.
 
Select by rectangle tool   Select by Rectangle   Selects a group of features based on the box you drag on the map view. Selects features for the active layer indicated in the legend.
 
Select by line/polygon   Select by Line/Polygon   Selects feature based on the line or polygon drawn on the map view. Selects features for the active layer indicated in the legend.
 
Buffer tool   Buffer Tool   Inserts a buffer some (or specified distance) around a feature.
 
Query Tool   Query Tool   Constructs queries on MapService data.
 
Find tool   Find   Finds the map feature9s) based on a text string the user types.
 
Identify tool   Identify   Displays a list of attributes for a selected feature.
 
Set map units   Set Map Units   Sets the units for the Measure tool.
 
Measure tool   Measure Distance   Measures distances on the map.
 
Map information   Map Information   Gets information about the map.
 
Move map   Move Map/Pan   Pans the map as you drag the pointer across the map when selecting the hand, or will move in the direction of the arrow selected.
