DHEC launches “Wash Hands” campaign

The media and the public are invited to attend the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control’s premiere of the “Wash Hands” video, featuring an original composition by South Carolina’s nationally renowned musician Danielle Howle.

Through music, the video shows Howle teaching children the importance of frequent and thorough hand washing and practicing proper cough etiquette as two of the best tools to reduce the risk of transmission of germs and viruses that cause disease.

Partnered with DHEC in the production and premiere of the video are South Carolina Educational Television and Columbia’s Edventure Children Museum.

Following Howle’s first performance, DHEC health staff will demonstrate proper hand washing techniques and cough etiquette. Children will have the opportunity to participate in related contests, and prizes will be awarded.

Media kits will be available, and the media and public are welcome to a copy of the video.
