Region 6 director re-elected to national board
COLUMBIA – Covia L. Stanley, M.D., M.Div. has been re-elected to the board of directors of the National Association of City and County Health Officials, the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control reported today.
Dr. Stanley serves as health and medical director of DHEC’s Region 6 which includes Horry, Georgetown and Williamsburg counties.
NAACHO is a national organization of local public health agencies. Dr. Stanley serves as Region IV representative for South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi and Tennessee. He is chair of the organization’s Maternal Child Health Committee.
Dr. Stanley earned bachelors and masters degrees from North Carolina Central University, medical degree from University of Buffalo and a master’s degree in divinity from Virginia Union University.
